بدأ جوردن حياته الفنية صغيرا فقد شارك فى صغره بعدة مسلسلات تلفزيونية بعد أن دخل للمجال الفنى عن طريق الاعلانات التجارية، وقد شارك ببطولة فيلم الجريمة الكوميدى "Holy Matrimony" عام 1994، توالت بعدها أعماله الفنية فى الظهور وكان أبرزها فيلم "(500) Days of Summer" عام 2009، والذى رشح عنه لعدة جوائز منها جائزة الجولدن جلوب أفضل ممثل.
