ممثلة إنجليزية من مواليد 5 أكتوبر 1975 في ريدنج، بريكشير. نشأت مع عائلتها البريطانية، وبدأت دراسة الدراما في سن الحادية عشرة في مدرسة مستقلّة. وبعد عام ظهرت في إعلان تلفزيوني.بدأت رحلتها المهنية في مسلسل (Dark Season) ثم (Sense and Sensibility) و(Titanic) و(Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). فازت بجائزة الأوسكار والبافتا عام 2009 عن فيلم (The Reader). قدمت العديد من المسلسلات مثل (Mildred Pierce) و(Mare of Easttown).
